Please see below some information about two exciting opportunities for young bands and other young people with a strong interest & involvement in popular music, which are taking place in the Stanley area this month as part of the "Sound Connections" programme.

Saturday 12th July. 2pm -5pm. The Activity Den, Tanfield Lea, Stanley, DH9 9LU.

A 3 hour practical
workshop focussing on SONGWRITING and RECORDING.

Special Guest
Contributors: Martin Longstaff (The Lake Poets), Paul Gregory (Lanterns On The
Lake), and Wayne McDonald (songwriter and producer, Generator).

Limited to 20 places,
FREE to young people aged 13-19.

Course: Monday 21st - Friday 25th July, North Durham Academy, High Street,
Stanley, DH9 0TW.

A week long intensive
programme for young musicians, covering a range of practical skills, advice and
information on the music business, and a short performance on the Friday
evening. FREE to young people aged 13 - 19, and ideal for vocalists,
guitartists, bassists, drummers, keyboard players, DJ's, rappers and producers
