Alcohol-Free Young Bands Night

The next alcohol-free Young Bands Night for young people takes place at The Lamplight Arts Centre on Friday 21st September.

The acts appearing are:         Listen To Ryan + Sinking Fast + Static Soul + Red Letters.

Tickets are £2.50 and doors open at 6.15pm for a 7pm start.

Rather than burden your in-box with an attachment, a pdf with the poster for the gig can be accessed on Leisureworks' website,
by clicking on the "arts in the community" tab.

As you are aware, these events are organised as a collaboration between Leisureworks and the youth work team at Stanley Youth Centre (part of Durham County Council's One Point service). As well as lots of live music from local bands, the "Y Agenda" group which has been funded by Stanley AAP, and which is supported by youth workers from SYC, will be undertaking some consultation with the audience around alcohol issues, as well as researching their views on aspects of the young bands nights, to help us improve the offer. There will also be a "virtual graffiti wall" activity on offer, organised and run by two young people at their own initiative.
We are looking for other activities that can enhance future young bands nights, so if your organisation or agency would like to provide an activity, conduct some research or offer information of relevance to this audience, then please contact me.

In the meantime, if you are able to help promote the evening to young people with whom you work, I would be very grateful.

With best wishes,
